Training Centre
The Casino Training Centre at Georgian College was established in June 1995 as the Trainer of Record for the Casino Rama project. While table games remain a major part of the training currently conducted at the Centre, we have developed a variety of curriculum for the gaming industry. Georgian expanded its mandate to include responsible gambling training for industry staff and also provided training to over 300 staff for the British Columbia Lottery Corporation in New Westminster.

Addictions: Treatment and Prevention
Post Graduate
This program prepares students to provide a client-centred, client driven continuum of treatment for individuals with addictive and compulsive behaviours. Building on a framework of individual and group counselling, two areas are studied intensively. One concentrates on problem and compulsive gambling, related treatment and relapse prevention strategies. The second explores addictive and compulsive behaviours in various populations. This program also includes a study of the relationship between modalities is examined based on matching client needs with intervention and support options.
Foundations of Gaming and Resort Operations
This one year certificate program is designed to prepare students for a broad range of employment opportunities in the gaming and hospitality industries. Graduates will have developed the employability as well as vocationally specific skills, knowledge and abilities to pursue entry level positions in occupations such as Blackjack dealer, slot attendant, bartender, visitor and reception services.
