E-Learning... A Case Study
CASE STUDY: Community Care Access Centre Simcoe County (CCACSC)
The Challenge: This project encompassed the administration, production and design of an initial E-Learning module on “Worker strategies to Ensure Personal Safety in Home Visiting” for Community Care Access Centre Simcoe County using the unique E-Learning tool, Breeze. It also provided a summary of administrative access rights & responsibilities as well as defined infrastructure use parameters for this E-Learning module.
The Solution: Georgian College, designed an E-Learning pilot project that was launched in the spring of 2004. This pilot project was the means by which CCACSC combined E-Learning and a branding strategy to deliver critical and timely information to its field workers, in-house staff and third-party contract workers, leveraging existing online technology that is delivered through standard web-based browsers. The pilot project incorporated an evaluation phase, utilizing a project evaluation matrix that considers learning objectives, cost ratio and stakeholder feedback.
Feedback: Upon completing the E-Learning module the sixty-three employees were asked for their opinion of the E-Learning solution.
- 85% rated the quality of the E-Learning experience “Excellent” or “Good.”
- 93% rated the clarity of the content “Excellent” or “Good.”
- 94% rated the method of delivery “Excellent” or “Good.”
Testimonial:
The CCACSC recently partnered with Georgian College to produce an E-Learning solution to one of our training issues. We were impressed and delighted that the solution received 100% acceptance by the users. Our staff found the program easy to use and effective. This project created a positive relationship between our two institutions, which will continue to strengthen based on the values and commitment each party brings to the partnership.
