Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
Marine “WHMIS" Training is designed to deliver critical knowledge to marine operator staff anywhere, anytime. During the course of this e-learning module users will learn proper handling and storage of hazardous materials as per WHMIS guidelines. Employees will become more knowledgeable about controlled and consumer products and the role of Material Safety Data Sheets at the dock and in the service area, as well as the responsibilities of the employer and employees regarding WHMIS. The time required to complete the module is estimated at 20 minutes.
Laptops and Office Ergonomics
"Laptop and Office Ergonomics" is an extension of the “Office Ergonomics” E-Learning module incorporating additional ergonomics practices for field or other workers that are required to use a laptop in the performance of their jobs. During the course of this E-Learning module you will learn to incorporate the correct ergonomic practices to your work environment. You will learn to use proper body mechanics when performing work functions, increase awareness of potential risk factors and how you can minimize or eliminate them so that you can reduce the risk of personal injury. Becoming more knowledgeable with your work environment will allow you to be more productive, efficient and safe. The time required to complete the module is estimated at one hour.
A Safe Approach to Home Visiting
"A Safe Approach To Home Visiting" is the first in a series of modules that is designed to deliver critical knowledge to office staff and field workers alike, anywhere, anytime. This module is designed to deliver a clear understanding of the importance of safe home visiting while offering our case managers guidelines for recognizing the dangers inherent in visiting a client's home. We have also designed this learning module to offer the learner practical know how to minimize or reduce the dangers of home visiting, to provide strategies in preparation for a home visit, safely provide service in a home and safely conclude the visit. The time required to complete the module is estimated at 1 - 1.5 hours. Please visit the module as often as you like now and in the future to refresh your knowledge, and remember, complete the survey at the end of the module to help us better design future learning experiences.
